ABOUT ST ANDREWS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TRUST

We are a leading community sports project working in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and surrounding areas. We deliver holiday camps for a variety of sports, such as football, basketball, cricket and hockey. In addition, our fully qualified, DBS-checked coaches run sports programmes in local schools during lunch and after school clubs. Our coaches are all certified to level 2 and above. We have well over 60 children attending our camps. Alongside training the young people to develop their sports skills, we encourage positive behaviours and ensure that all our staff act as good role models.

Founded in 1991 by Richard Agboola, St Andrews Youth Development Trust is a registered charity supporting young people in their transition from adolescence into adulthood.

Our work is designed to enhance the life chances of young people by helping them to achieve success in their sporting, academic and vocational pursuits.

Over the past 26 years, we have been involved in numerous community initiatives aimed at promoting civic responsibility, community safety, cohesion and social inclusion.

St Andrews Youth Development Trust evolved out of Victoria Park FC in order to meet pressing needs in the community and to provide a comprehensive range of opportunities for children and young people through sports and outdoor pursuits, arts & craft, employment and social enterprise training.

Our organisation has a track record of delivering sustainable outcomes and opportunities for children and young people to participate in community activities. Our organisation has been responsible for providing competitive and recreational football to over 2500 young people since its formation.

We help young people to pursue major opportunities within sport. We ensure that our players have the best chance possible of attending trials and gaining professional contracts. Many of our players have gone on to join top professional clubs and to play for England at youth level, such as
Fankati Dabo (Chelsea), Josh Walker (Fulham), and Dennis Adeniran (Fulham), all of whom had their introduction to youth football at our club. The sports club currently runs 14 teams ranging from U7 to Adult categories, participating in local and regional leagues. Victoria Park FC has now achieved FA Charter Standard status.
